Rookie Boys Contact Development Rugby Basics
The U-14 (players under 14 years old) team plays with similar rules to a mix
of non-contact and HS full contact rugby. The game is played on a normal
regulation field and uses field goals and the like of the full size game. The
difference is the players per side are 12 opposed to the 15 in the full size
game. Also the scrum (in football terms, the equivalent to the line of
scrimmage) is played with of 5 players instead of the traditional 8. Besides
that the rules are identical with the same tackling and rucking rules.
The club itself has a strong history in this division and in 2008, won the U14
southern conference championship.

program that CJ put together
during the last season. The
majority of the team is returning
and we have recruited solid new
players to keep this team on the
great path it has been on. We
are going to play aggressive
hard-nosed rugby and will have
